My Story
It all started with
a few books, some leather, a china cabinet, and a 12 year old girl...
Ever since my mom helped me sew my first lap quilt when I was only 5 years old, I have enjoyed crafting hand-made items and learning new skills.
From Fabric to Leather...
As a 12 year old tomboy, I often got in trouble for tracking mud into the house on my clothing after a day of playing outside in the spring. “Perhaps if I had a pair of chaps that I could get dirty and remove before coming into the house, they would solve the problem!” I thought. Then, one Christmas, I was unexpectedly blessed with a bag of scrap leather, some saddlemaking books, and a whole bunch of strange-looking tools I didn’t know what to do with. After discovering that my idea of sewing the scraps into chaps was a little too ambitious, I decided to learn how to use the carving tools I had received. Back then, the only teacher I had access to was books.
My first worbench was a countertop that was on top of the cabinet our china dishes were kept in! (My poor mom, she was very longsuffering and lenient!) By God’s grace, none of the dishes ever broke, but I have since moved to more sturdy areas to do my pounding and carving!

Sharing the passion
As a homeschool gradate who often learned skills on my own through books, I have a passion for sharing not only my skills, but also the knowledge of how to learn and grow on one’s own through creativity and knowing how to utilize resources.
Biblical Craftsmen
And he hath filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship; And to devise curious works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, And in the cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of wood, to make any manner of cunning work.
Them hath he filled with wisdom of heart, to work all manner of work, of the engraver, and of the cunning workman, and of the embroiderer, in blue, and in purple, in scarlet, and in fine linen, and of the weaver, even of them that do any work, and of those that devise cunning work.
